IRATA Announcement - CESSATION OF ACCELERATED ENTRY AND THE ARAA CONVERSION SCHEMES

Irata recently made the announcement that direct entry from ARAA to IRATA is being phased out.

See below for the announcement.

CESSATION OF ACCELERATED ENTRY

IRATA recognises qualifications obtained from alternative rope access certification schemes where comparative analysis of the syllabus requirements demonstrates a level of equivalency. Approved alternative rope access certification conversion schemes can be found on our website HERE. Please note, to read these documents you will be required to be logged into the members area of the IRATA website.

The Accelerated Entry scheme is withdrawn with immediate effect. Consequently, Accelerated Entry applications are no longer accepted. Applicants who have already commenced this scheme will have until 31/12/2020 to complete the Accelerated Entry Procedure, after which point it will become obsolete and IRATA certification relying on this scheme will no longer be granted.

AUSTRALIAN ROPE ACCESS ASSOCIATION (ARAA)

ARAA certification body ceased certification of their technicians as of 01/03/2019. As such, the ARAA to IRATA conversion procedure is withdrawn with immediate effect.

Please note that candidates who have already commenced the ARAA to IRATA conversion procedure will have until 31/03/2021 to complete this scheme, after which point the procedure will become obsolete and certification relying on this scheme will not be granted.
