Designed to run exceptionally smoothly along the safety rope, the FUSE follows the technician with minimal resistance during normal movement while providing rapid fall arrest when required.

The EDELRID FUSE has been designed to travel exceptionally smoothly along the rope from the first metre, helping reduce the need for technicians to manually reposition their backup device as they move.
Its innovative design separates the blocking mechanism from the speed-dependent activation mechanism, allowing the device to move freely during normal use while activating the clamping cam when movement exceeds 2 m/s.
Unlike traditional toothed fall arrest devices, the FUSE uses a toothless clamping cam. This helps reduce rope wear and potential rope damage while also allowing the blocking mechanism to be released without completely removing the load from the device.
DEFUSER RESCUE L – Built for Rescue Loads
This kit includes the DEFUSER RESCUE L, EDELRID's longer, high-capacity energy absorber designed specifically for use with the FUSE.
With a maximum user load of up to 220 kg, the DEFUSER RESCUE L provides additional capacity for technicians carrying heavy equipment and, importantly, for rescue situations where the rescuer may need to support the weight of a casualty on their own system.
The elongated 400 mm design also provides additional distance between the technician and the backup rope, helping create a clearer working area around the harness.
A built-in inspection window allows the condition of the energy absorber to be visually checked before use.
Reduced Arrest Forces
When used with the appropriate DEFUSER energy absorber, EDELRID states that the FUSE system produces an arrest force approximately 30% below the legally established maximum.
This provides a highly refined fall-arrest system designed not only to stop a fall, but also to better manage the forces generated during the arrest.
Lock Function for Work Positioning
The FUSE incorporates a practical lock function that allows the clamping mechanism to be activated when required.
